Grain Neutral Spirits
When a grain is germinated, fermented, then distilled, the product is a “neutral spirit,” meaning that nothing has been done aside from those three steps. If the neutral spirit is then aged, it can be considered a whiskey, if the neutral spirit is steeped in Juniper and other herbs, it can be considered a gin, and so on.
Our GNS or Grain Neutral Spirits are made by fermenting and distilling corn. Repeated distillation leads to a highly concentrated, clear, pure, unscented spirit. Because it is thoroughly distilled, the grain alcohol takes on these desired properties. The purity and plainness is what makes GNS so versatile. It’s often the base for raw material alcohol such as Vodka, Gin, London Dry Gin and Sloe Gin, but it does not interfere with flavor and allows the natural botanical flavors to come through with clarity.
Craft distillers can greatly benefit by using GNS to become scalable. Craft distillers like to create their own spirits from scratch, however if they purchase GNS from large distillers it will give their products greater consistency and will allow them to be prepared for a sudden surge in demand. When their product gains mass appeal and they get a bulk order for large quantities, the craft distiller will be ready. Buying GNS is cheaper, purer and cleaner.

Specially Denatured Alcohol
Along with beverage use, our specially denatured alcohol (SDA) can be utilized in industrial, pharmaceutical, and personal care industries.
Our SDA products can be used in industrial applications that demand the highest degree of purity. From use as a chemical intermediate or a pristine solvent, having a product with the minimal amount of byproducts is critical. Industrial applications include solvents, vinegar, liquid soaps, detergents, lacquer coatings, printing inks, and adhesives. Like industrial use, pharmaceuticals demand the highest degree of purity. When it comes to producing life saving drugs you need to have confidence in your SDA source. Our 6-Column Process
Golden Triangle offers full scale production at our state-of-the-art distillation facility, which is believed to be among the elite in grain neutral spirits production facilities in the world.
The 17-18% beer from corn based fermentation passes through a beer stripping column separating the mash from the low proof water-alcohol vapor. The rectifier and side stripping columns are next, stripping water from the alcohol to its aziotropic balance. Next is the extractive distillation column which begins the purification process by separating and diverting impurities or congeners from the diluted flow.
The nearly pure, diluted product is then brought back to aziotropic levels in the Hi Quality rectifier column. At this point, the stream is directed through a specialized column to remove methanol from the stream. Product from this column is pristine. Outside testing has shown this 190 proof grain neutral spirits product to be among the purest in the industry. It has routinely passed very stringent organolyptic testing panels in the beverage industry. This Kosher, 190 proof product is offered for sale.
To serve customers wanting a 200 proof product, the pure 190 proof stream passes through a dedicated GNS, molecular sieve system and recycle rectifier column to remove the remaining 5% water. This is a mechanical alcohol-water separation drying system that uses no chemicals to break the molecular aziotropic bonds and delivers an anhydrous product for compact shipment.
The resulting kosher product is stored in stainless steel tanks with a polished interior and shipped in kosher certified rail cars or tankers. The increased proof gallons per wine gallon makes this an attractive option for discerning customers, with a 5% increase in proof gallons delivered per freight dollar.
